- Make sure you get all the receipts for taxes and permissions paid at the local and state government institutions, check that they area up to date on their payments.
- Buildings and apartments with share facilities, have generally a fee to pay, make sure of the amount paid for them and that they have been paid for as well, double check with the treasury of the building or escrow provider.
- Check that all the bills for electricity, energy and gas have been paid for, you do not want to pay fines for late payments.
- The contract is generally written in Spanish, if you do not understand what the contract is describing ask for it to be translated.
- Agree on a price, method of payment and the currency for the transaction, generally it is in US dollars.
- Signing of the letter of ownership, must be in front of a notario which is a legal representative of the government of Mexico.
